3099 The Kete people farm along the southern border of the Kuba Kingdom and live in an independent villages led by family chiefs. They carved figures associated with initiations and helmet masks similar to the Bushoong Bwoon mask with large conical eyes. Kete Ngita masks have a pair of backward-projecting horns and are worn during funerals (Bacquart, 1998:172).
